UCF Knights first home game against FIU

This college football season hits the UCF Knights like a double-edged sword: On one hand the team’s upped their schedule by playing more prominent opponents like Ohio State and Missouri, but on the other, the program’s still in the process of appealing the one-year bowl game ban the NCAA slapped on earlier this year. While the sanctions might mean a potentially dismal ending to the season, Knights fans should still revel in this weekend’s home opener against Florida International University. After the Golden Panthers’ embarrassing display earlier this season at Duke, it should be an easy one for the Knights. And when it comes down to it, fans know what home games are really about: tailgating. Pull out the foam fingers and fire up the Broil King because they might take away our shot at a Conference USA championship, but they can never take away our gameday grub, lawn drinking games and ice-cold beer! – Aimee Vitek
