The New York Times eyes Orlando City Soccer Club's M.L.S. status

You might have read our coverage over the last several months of Orlando City Soccer Club's rousing success and ultimate desire to join Major League Soccer. If not, you can find those articles here, here, here and here.

Oh, and because (obviously) we can't get enough of these guys, we also named them "Best came-out-of-nowhere team" in our 2012 Best of Orlando issue.

Seems like we aren't the only ones gushing on the Orlando City Soccer boys, however, as The New York Times recently covered the team's efforts toward becoming an M.L.S. team in its Goal soccer blog.

As an update from Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber's visit to Orlando earlier this year, the post explains the benefits and implications of Orlando City's potential M.L.S. status on both the local and national level.
