Hundred Waters are from Gainesville and have played a few shows in Orlando, including one of the most buzzed-about sets of the many buzzed-about sets at the most recent Orange You Glad fest. However, while this city can often demonstrate a bit of a laissez-faire attitude toward good (or even great) local/regional bands – “Oh, I’ll just see ’em next time” – Hundred Waters are very much deserving of your attention right now. The band’s debut full-length garnered an incredibly respectable 8.1 review on Pitchfork, but even without that high-profile validation, Hundred Waters’ forward-looking take on dreamy indie rock is the kind of thing that can impress even the most jaded observers. Meshing complex, organic pop structures with a miasmic, atmospheric blend of electronics and innovative vocal approaches, Hundred Waters make music that’s as gentle as it is commanding. – Jason Ferguson
