PB&J Theater Factory's Sport is back for a 3rd Strike in the same Fringe venue where they began in 2006, and as always (to badly bungle a sports metaphor) they are bowling .1000 with my funnybone. Once again, these five fine physical comics engage in absurd atheltics including synchronized swimming in boxer shorts, daiper dodgeball, and a 3-way co-ed boxing match that turns into a heated game of musical chairs.

Sport's humor is much more visual than verbal, and no sophistication is required to enjoy the silliness, as the plentiful little-kid laughter during the performance I attended proved. The bulk of show is built from previously-seen bits brought back from past incarnations, which is fine by me; the physics-defying tennis match and nattering football play-by-play announcers are still comedy gold. Everone in the cast gets moments to shine, but Brandon Roberts is still clearly the crew's most accomplished clown, in the best tradition of Harold Lloyd and Buster Keaton.

The closest thing I can compare Sport to is a live action version of Disney's "Sport Goofy" cartoons from the 1940's, where Goofy would attempt to ski or such with hilariously little success. My only complaint is that at about 40 minutes, I was left wanting more, making this world-class quality sporting silliness the perfect antidote to our imminent Olympic onslaught.
