Anthony Bourdain: love him or hate him, the dude's got great taste in film, and he's bringing it to Turner Classic Movies for a night as guest programmer.

Each film will feature an introduction by Bourdain and TCM host Robert Osborne, which is quite the interesting duo.

The films are:

The Searchers - John Ford (1956) - 8PM

Eyes Without a Face - Georges Franju (1960) - 10:15PM

Get Carter (1971) - Mike Hodges - MIDNIGHT

Withnail & I (1987) - Bruce Robinson - 2AM

I never would have pegged Bourdain as a fan of The Searchers, but it's a great film, as are his other choices. Eyes Without a Face would be the pick of the night for me (if only because I've seen The Searchers like 25 times), but if you've never seen Withnail & I, it's worth staying up late for. It's like an absurdist version of Straw Dogs without the feelgood rape and paranoia.

It's somewhat surprising he didn't throw a raging fit to get Janus to license The Friends of Eddie Coyle for the night. Bourdain went so far as to base his Boston episode of No Reservations on the film (and the book), while simultaneously lamenting the fact that it took place in Boston.
