Selection Reminder: Downtown Food & Wine Fest this weekend!

Posted By on Fri, Mar 30, 2012 at 1:00 PM

Saturday-Sunday, March 31-April 1 Downtown Food & Wine Fest

noon-9 p.m. Saturday

noon-7 p.m. Sunday

Lake Eola Park, along Robinson Street

For the new rendition of the departed Orlando Food & Wine Fest, this year Lake Eola plays host to the Downtown Food & Wine Fest, a two-day eats-and-alky jumble with the tagline “A treat for all the senses.” Fitting enough, if you break it down among the five senses: Smell/taste more than 100 dishes, ranging from the fine (Del Frisco’s, Primo) to neighborhood signatures (Dexter’s, Funky Monkey, Anatolia); watch live demos on the Chef’s Stage by the likes of Food Network’s Extreme Chef Amadeus, Divino Wine Broker’s Jimmy Kawalek and Lindsay Autry of Bravo’s Top Chef: Texas; listen to hits by American Idol alum David Cook, singer-songwriter Jon McLaughlin and Aussie rock group Little River Band; keep a glass of red or white (of featured Napa Valley Beringer varieties) in your hand at all times. Consider this fair warning if the result is an overtly stimulated experience. –Aimee Vitek
