Thursday, March 15 Jim Norton

various times through March 17

Improv Comedy Club & Dinner Theatre

9101 International Drive

The fact that comedian Jim Norton was at the poker table, right next to Louis C.K., in the scene that made FX’s Louie a cultural phenomenon, makes Norton’s bona fides about as solid as they come. The fact that he’s come so far – regular stints on “The Opie & Anthony Show” and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, performing at Bonnaroo, author of two books, comedy specials – despite holding aggressively conservative viewpoints that are often at odds with his fellow comedians not named Colin Quinn is something else entirely. From his dagger-sharp Jersey intonation to observations that would be offensive if they didn’t come so quickly and out of left field, the side-splitting laughter you find yourself spewing can be chalked up to an involuntary response if your leftie friend looks at you sideways. – Justin Strout
