21 Jump Street -- With an Oscar nomination under his now-tightened belt, Jonah Hill is emboldened to position himself as the latter-day Peter DeLuise in this “next generation” outgrowth of the ’80s TV series. The idea of Channing Tatum as the 21st century Johnny Depp is even more dubious, especially with Depp himself around to point up the yawning chasm of contrast via an uncredited cameo. Friends with Kids -- Having done her part to bring lesbian chic to the masses in the insufferably trivial Kissing Jessica Stein, Jennifer Westfeldt conscripts genuine talents like Kristen Wiig and Jon Hamm into this story about a couple who decide to procreate without committing to each other. At this point, I’m thinking she’s a plant for One Million Moms. (R)

The Duplass Brothers (Cyrus, Baghead) cast Jason Segel and Ed Helms in a story of what can happen when a man-child has to leave his mother’s basement even momentarily. Well, for one thing, you get to go to MegaCon. (R) [youtube 34kCWAsddtA]
