If you are half as big a Walt Disney fan as I am (also known as a "Disnerd") you probably have a house full of Mouse-related posters, toys, and ephemera lying around. Or maybe you've always dreamed of owning an actual piece of the magic, like an authentic attraction costume or decommissioned ride vehicle.

In that case, you'll want to take a trip west to Winter Garden's brand-new Theme Park Connection, a warehouse where you can sell, buy, or simply see an amazing collection of Walt Disney World cast-offs. The store held its grand opening celebration on Saturday, Dec 4th, garnering an impressive crowd who were feted with free food and a drum line performances.

Inside the overstuffed warehouse, everything from Pirates of the Caribbean movie props to old resort phone directories are available for the right price, and the staff will happily appraise any items you might want to get rid of. I brought a pile of souveneirs I intended to sell, but ended up spending $40 on books instead (including a hardcover edition of John Hench's essential Designing Disney tome).

The store is open to the public three days a week (Wednesday trough Friday) with additional hours by appointment. I hope to feature an interview with the store's owners in an upcoming issue of the Orlando Weekly, In the meantime, before you begin scouring your closet for old mouse ears, check out this selection of photos from Saturday's celebration:
