Look around you, man. The world is fucked and there’s a gnawing sense in the collective American consciousness that we just need to take shit back to basics. And while it’s great that this generation has finally broken free of its longtime stasis and started taking to the streets, we prefer manifesting our outrage with some musical accompaniment. Who better to get the blood flowing and your compass right than Massachusetts punk heroes Bane? Few bands balance all the elements of good hardcore as well as these guys. Musically, they’re legitimately hard, emotionally cathartic and sometimes even complex. Blending power and message, Bane shoot it straight and at a very high caliber. And maybe – after all the calls, responses and air-punching you’ll do with your fellow humans at this show – all this madness, or at least what to do about it, will make a little more sense. – Bao Le-Huu (with Defeater, Miles Away, Dead End Path; 8 p.m. at Will’s Pub, 1042 N. Mills Ave.; $12-$14; 407-898-5070; willspub.org)
