Saturday, Sept. 24VarieTEASE Carnivale

In a perfect world, we would have limber-girl Baby Blue with us all the time – like some kind of animatronic Barbie that tore up our passenger-side seat while we giggled along to showtunes, jumped up and down on our bed just because she knew we had a headache, and then fashioned every important document in our file cabinet into a torn onesie covered in ketchup. She’d be like an imaginary friend and anti-conscience of choreographed vulgarity. Then, and only then, would we be truly happy. For now, we’ll settle for the return of the ringmaster charade that is Baby Blue’s big VarieTEASE Carnivale, aptly described on as “a hallucinogenic day at a particularly cheeky circus [providing] the backdrop for glittering costumes, half-naked jugglers and an array of acrobatic naughtiness,” etc. Most of all, though, it’s another chance for our favorite bleach bubble to own the stage and our hearts as we cackle our way into another beautiful nightmare. – Billy Manes (8 p.m. at Footlight Theater, the Parliament House, 410 N.
