Monday, July 4I-4 Fest

You had us worried for a minute there, Austins Coffee. We didn’t get the invitation to the six-years-strong Independence Day bash until about a week before this issue printed – and we were admittedly sweating. After all, last year’s competing 4th Fest was rained out of existence after bad weather plagued the inaugural outing, and if there’s not a parking lot filled with some bands, beer and fireworks in honor of July 4, well, we might just have to stay off the swervy roads for once. But alas, Austins has stepped up again with another strong musical lineup, along with B-Side graffiti, face-painters and local arts and crafts vendors to distract you from the city’s other rah-rah, Fireworks Not Food at Eola (or whatever) festivities. On hand with the rock this year: Alias Punch, Howling Owls, Goodrich & the Die Tryin’s, Tam Tam the Sandwich Man & the Magical Sugar Cookies, Room Full of Strangers, Daikaiju and many more. – Justin Strout (Noon at Austins Coffee, 929 W. Fairbanks Ave., Winter Park; $5; 407-975-3364;
