Satoko Fujii and her four-piece have squeezed in this Florida date between shows in New York and Chicago. Picture a map of the United States and think about how lucky you are – not to mention that, as always at the White House, this is a free show. “Ma-do” means “window” in Japanese; Fujii chose the name to refer to “the silence between notes” and the way that the improvised interludes make their songs “open to the outside.” But if that sounds airy-fairy or you have any preconceptions about a diminutive Japanese woman pianist, Mr. Strout, check YouTube for a taste of her shattering duo performances with the drummer from Ruins. Fujii’s swirling attack on the keys was on display at last October’s Larry Ochs show at the White House; this early-afternoon show should prove no less fiery. – Jessica Bryce Young (3 p.m. at Timucua White House, 2000 S.
