“Dance, it’s all I want to do, so won’t you dance?” coos post-plastic-pop princess Kylie Minogue at the outset of her latest, seemingly animatronic branding exercise, Aphrodite. But even within the simplistic confines of disposable prose effervescing from that album’s first single, “All the Lovers,” there’s a certain sticking factor: an under-the-skin sadness that’s somehow age appropriate for a 42-year-old international icon, breast cancer survivor, hell, goddess. Her career, by U.S. standards, may consist of a “Locomotion” steamroll in the late ’80s with an accidental “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” hiccup/hangover a decade ago, but to those of us with bedazzled sympathies and a permanent tug at our handbag hearts – also known as the gays – we recognize Minogue as a precious constant, a mirrorball of percolating conviviality whose every move is followed by a trail of glitter. She is perfection measured in beats per minute, compassion dripping in jewels. Yes, we’ll dance. We thought she’d never ask. –Billy Manes (7 p.m. at Hard Rock Live, CityWalk at Universal Orlando; $75-$139; 407-351-5483; hardrock.com)
