Florida Film Festival: Bots High Trailer

Posted By on Sat, Mar 19, 2011 at 11:54 PM

Here is an early bit of Florida Film Festival coverage coming your way.

You check out the new trailer for Bots High, Joey Daoud's feature length documentary about a bunch of high school kids down in Miami designing, building and competing with their own battle bots during the 2009-10 school year.

Here's the link: Bots High - High School Robotics Documentary - Official Trailer

Bots High follows three teams of high school robotics geeks who build and battle their way to a national robotics competition in Miami. Our heroes include genius inventor Will, who constructs seemingly indestructible bots that unfortunately self-destruct (sometimes in a cloud of smoke and flames), and My Mechanical Romance, a team of Catholic school girls who stand out amid male bot participants with a combination of beauty, brains, and fashion sense.

The doc is well worth the time to see (more on this in the paper, I promise), but unfortunately only has one screening during the festival, at the Regal Winter Park Village, on Sunday, 4-17 at noon.
