Well, we saw this coming last night when reports surfaced that our favorite Orlando hellraiser collapsed yesterday at his radio station office, and having just heard the news confirmed, we have yet to quite get our collective head around George Crossley's death. The former televangelist, activist, ACLU leader and (so very importantly) FRIEND to the Orlando Weekly was so full of heart and passion, so fucking alive even while looking like death on legs, that we kind of took him for granted. Though anytime he we saw him (we being me, Billy), he was always so gregarious as to reach over to us and give us a big bear hug. We'll do more on this later once it's been duly processed -- see next week's issue -- but for now, a fond farewell to a hero, a broken saint, a grumpy uncle and a lovely man. R.I.P, old buddy. You done good.
