Cattle Call: Singing. Just do it.

Posted By on Sun, Sep 20, 2009 at 7:03 PM

Gotta love a theater company like Mad Cow. Consistently quality theater and easy to follow audition notices. Here's one for everything requiring prettier voices than, say, mine (to know what I sound like, punch a cat).

Mad Cow Theatre is holding general musical auditions by appointment only for a series of 2010 productions including My Fair Lady, The Cradle Will Rock and two concert opera collaborations with The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra: Carmen and Porgy and Bess. Christopher Wilkins, conducting, with Alan Bruun, creative direction. Performance dates are available on Mad Cowâ??s website. Auditions are November 6 â?? 8, 2009 in Orlando, FL.

We are looking for strong professional singers, ages 16 and over for both principal and chorus roles. Mad Cow is seeking a diverse company of performers and is committed to equal opportunity employment and a flexible, non-traditional casting policy. African-American singers are strongly encouraged to audition.

All roles, including principals and chorus are open, except for the following:

Carmen: Carmen, Don Jose, Escamillo

Porgy & Bess: Porgy, Bess, Crown, Serena

Callbacks for each project will be scheduled during the weekend of November 20 â?? 22, 2009.

Please prepare two contrasting songs or arias and bring a picture and resume. An accompanist will be provided. Audition appointments will be scheduled Friday, November 6, Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8 at The Lowndes Shakespeare Center 812 East Rollins Street Orlando, Florida 32803, in Loch Haven Park.

To schedule an audition appointment email [email protected] (preferred). If you do not have access to the internet please call the audition line at 407.297.8788 and leave a message for our audition coordinator to contact you. All performers are paid a fee. AEA performers perform under the applicable and are encouraged to audition.
