the hunger artist.

Posted By on Mon, Jul 27, 2009 at 10:28 PM

What's eating Brian Feldman? He has gravitated toward food in many of his performance pieces â?? Brian Feldman Eats a Hamburger, Feldmanâ??s Infamous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest, and the show that first brought him to our attention, The Feldman Dynamic (in which he simply ate dinner with his family onstage, night after night).

Saturday, July 25 (and Sunday, July 26), he continued to chew through our psyches with Brian Feldman Eats Everything Off The Menu At Loving Hut (I'm thinking the title makes the concept self-explanatory, no?), his latest opus of endurance art. Perhaps he needed to carbo-load after his 24 hours of jumping last week at the Atlantic Center for the Arts.

Anyway, the picture to the right is how he looked around 4:30 Saturday afternoon (I think he had just finished the Raw Avocado Drink; we were picking up some summer rolls.) After eating 44 dishes, Feldman had to give in and call it a day; he returned Sunday to finish the project.

Today he Twittered, "I feel great! It was a piece of cake" (guy's got a twisted sense of humor), and then, "Toughest project of the year now underway." Can't wait to see it.
