Fringe 08: Doodie Humor

Doodie Humor's Christmas Spectacular

Doodie Humor (Orlando FL)

Normally, I hate it when a long-running favorite craps out with a clip show parading their best-of moments. But Doodie Humor has sculpted their scat into a satisfying hour of sketch comedy. This year the poop-humor prophets look back on their 24 years of heart (and bowel) warming Christmas specials. (Yes, 24. Where have you been?). The killer cast consists of Mike Aiello, Rubin Erving, Todd Feren, Michele Feren, A. Ali Flores, and Anitra Pritchard (Meghan Moroney shows up, but she wasn't invited).

The Doodie experience involves a mix of live performance and prerecorded scenes, rendered with Ed Woodian AfterEffects abandon by Brad Tremaroli and Jason Murphy. Between snappy new segments looking back on X-Rated X-Mases past, they revist memorable sketches -- Todd as a Jesus Magic 8-Ball-consulting GWB waging an Operation Freedom against the sun; a terrorist mastermind (Aiello) whose Anarchist Cookbook reads more like MAD Magazine; Flores as a guy who's 3-way is spoiled by some serious sword-crossing. The live sketches crackle with tight comedic timing, though the video segments' pacing sometimes goes slack.

This isn't the show for the easily (or even not-so-easily) offended, but if you're jake with jokes about piss pedophilia, racist dogs, and a kung-fu killing Jesus, you'll find some nuggets of satiric gold in the shit this crew squeezes out.
