We Don't Need Your Fascist Groove Thing

Posted By on Tue, Jan 9, 2007 at 4:21 PM

With any luck or sanity, you won't care about this. But for those of us with fermented pop pasts and virtual vaginas, today is a sad day indeed. From the message board came this message last week:

To Our Fans:

The Message Board on was originally developed as a place for our fans to go to meet one another, make friends and discuss Duran Duran. Over the last year or so, however, the Board has changed enormously and moved away from the vision we first had for it. We are working on making all kinds of exciting internet-based upgrades in the Duran World over the course of the next six months as we prepare to launch our new album. As part of this, in keeping with many other artists’ official websites, we have decided to dismantle the Message Board on, allowing you to migrate to either the Boards or those operated by many of the fan-runs sites that now exist. Our decision is partially in response to an overwhelming number of requests from our fans, many of whom seem to feel exactly like us with regard to the Board. We are confident that the other active Boards will suit your needs and would like to give you one week’s notice, starting today, January 3rd, to make sure you are able to extract whatever information and contacts you want before the board is removed on January 10th, 2007.

All best wishes to you all for 2007!

Simon, Nick, John and Roger

So, basically, Duran Duran just told me to fuck off, right? This on the eve of their questionable Timbaland/Timberlake redecoration in the form of a(nother) comeback album. This is the end, beautiful friend, the end. Well, frankly, I'm devastated. Just thought you should know.
