Evil, slash-and-burn, bleeding-larynx hardcore has only so much room to grow. And this band -- formed by ex-members of American Nightmare, The Locust and Unbroken -- doesn't do much to add to the formula. However, this collection of new songs, unreleased demos and 7-inch tracks does show a band that's willing to up the ante of frantic tempo changes and brutal guitar frenzy that's come to dominate the genre. More explosively spastic than ominously dangerous, it's pretty clear that "screamo" it ain't, but simplistic, it ain't either.
