Review - The Everyothers

Artist: The Everyothers

The Everyothers
Label: Hautlab
Media: CD
Format: Album
WorkNameSort: The Everyothers

The four glam New York City punks that are The Everyothers have swagger to spare. They want it all, they want it now and, as they reveal on the first track of their self-titled debut full-length, they'll be anything you want them to be. They sound a little like the Black Crowes and the Stooges, but they're prettier than all that too. Singer/guitarist Owen McCarthy will sneer a bit, but he'll also ask for forgiveness in the same breath. Some of the melodies and vocals sound appropriated from the Julian Casablancas school of songwriting, but the Strokes weren't exactly original either, and they seem to have done just fine.
