Review - Neurosis & Jarboe

Artist: Neurosis and Jarboe

It's not surprising that this CD is both heavy (thanks to Neurosis) and emotionally chaotic (thanks to Jarboe). What is surprising is how seamlessly these two seemingly disparate artists merge their styles. If she learned nothing else from working with Michael Gira and Swans, Jarboe certainly picked up a thing or two about dynamic tension, education that's put to the test here, as the Bay Area behemoth known as Neurosis kicks up a furiously thick swarm of noise that ebbs and flows in perfect "harmony" with Jarboe's throat-thick vocals.
