Review - Heart Trouble

Artist: Wanda Jackson

Posted on Thu, Sep 25, 2003 at 4:00 AM

In the late '50s Wanda Jackson paved the way for the likes of both Patsy Cline and the '60s girl groups, and her latest release shows why. Still going strong in her mid-60s, Jackson resurrects classics like "Mean Mean Man" and "Funnel of Love," mixes in some blues, then adds fresh heat in the form of the title track. She even dusts off her gospel chops on "Walk With Me." Her all-star supporting cast features Elvis Costello, The Cramps, Dave Alvin and Rosie Flores, but it's Wanda who proves you're never too old to rock 'n' roll.
