Review - The Bronx

Artist: The Bronx

The Bronx
Label: White Drugs/Ferret
Media: CD
Format: Album
WorkNameSort: The Bronx

The level of hype surrounding The Bronx is fairly annoying, but if you're a hard-driving band that's equal parts AC/DC and Minor Threat (seriously), and you've got Gilby Clarke (!) manning the boards for your album, there's a reason people should pay attention. And The Bronx -- and "The Bronx" -- delivers. Though there's nothing earth-shatteringly revelatory here (it is just rock & roll, y'know), but these 10 songs are still a powerful blow to the back of the skull. With revved-up anthems ("White Tar") and sleazy, overdriven explosions ("I Got Chills"), it's what the Supersuckers would sound like if they took all the drugs they sing about. And that's a good thing.
