Review - Furious Angels

Artist: Rob Dougan

In the same way that Hybrid fused progressive house and symphonic grandeur to create an epic work of polychromatic ambience, Dougan (he, of "Clubbed To Death" fame, which, unsurprisingly, is included here) has made "Furious Angels" a lush, evocative foray into electronic elegance. As dependent upon its intimate lyrical content as it is upon its sweeping sonics, "Angels" is at once a personal and provocative record. It's like Nick Cave, Ryuichi Sakamoto and the Future Sound of London decided to commiserate, and that's a wonderful thing.
