When somebody dies, do they go away forever? Boy, Kevin Costner oughta know, eh? We thought he was gonna go away forever after "Waterworld" and "The Postman", but no, here he is again in a major motion picture directed by Tom ("Patch Adams", "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective") Shadyac, as Dr. Joe Darrow, a recently widowed super-sawbones haunted by his wife's untimely passing. There's all kinds of dead people being seen, and not just by creepy kids; why, they even got a freaking "parrot" that sees dead people in this here paranormal/medical melodrama. The great Kathy Bates essays a support role, sporting her best haircut ever, but that might not be enough to keep you from a detailed examination of your inner eyelids.
