While we all acknowledge that good food can be an art form, we might not associate an art museum with good food. Until now, anyway.
Along with the popular "First Thursday" series, which presents new works and food around a theme -- the "Blues en Bleu" event combined blue-clad attendees with blue food, blue art and blues music -- the Orlando Museum of Art is continuing the painting-and-eating connection with its "Appetite for Arts" events. They include an art- history lesson and private tour of the museum complete with snacks.
Past events have included a "What's Hot and What's Not?" tour with vodka tonics and crudites. Up next on Sept. 10 is "Famous Artists' Foibles," an evening of art, beer and popcorn. The second series begins October 15 with the "Masters and Mistresses" tour, complete with Andrew Wyeth, Grandma Moses, wine and cheese.
