Tip Jar: Lots of opening, closing and moving in 2015 so far 


Chef Tony Adams of Big Wheel Provisions, the much-missed food truck and caterer, returns to Orlando Jan. 11 with a pop-up dinner from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at East End Market; tickets are $20 plus tax. Earlier in the day, Adams hosts a pasta-making class, sauce and all, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (enroll for $40 plus tax).

Camilo Velasco, executive chef of the lauded Barnie's CoffeeKitchen in Winter Park, has launched a video series on barniescoffeekitchen.com titled Camilo in the Kitchen. The first episode showcases three items from the Barnie's winter menu.

Those lamenting the loss of Memories of India on Turkey Lake Road, take heart – the same owners have relocated the restaurant to Crystal Clear Lane, on the corner of OBT and Sand Lake Road. Look for it to open later this month.

Over in Longwood, Azhar Baig's Sizzling Grill (formerly Apna Café) is now Tandoori Flame. Farther down State Road 434, Bite, the hot dog and burger joint, has closed, and Thailicious has opened in its place. Around the corner, another Thai restaurant – Thai Delight – has opened on Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

The Canadians are coming! Look for Canuck froyo outfit Yogen Früz to open in Baldwin Park, College Park, Artegon Orlando and Universal Boulevard in the coming weeks.


Orlando's first Quickly Boba & Snow has opened across from Fashion Square Mall in the former 4Delights space, complete with its own Boy Kong mural ... Izziban Sushi & BBQ has opened in the former Mr. Sisters space on Colonial Drive near Semoran Boulevard ... Wingstop is now serving up wings on South Semoran Boulevard near Curry Ford Road ... Over at the Hyatt Regency Orlando (formerly the Peabody), Napa Restaurant has been rebranded as the Urban Tide, with chef Jared Gross now overseeing a seafood-centric menu.
