Time for a road movie?

Last year's 15th edition of the Central Florida Film & Video Festival may not have been a landmark, once-in-a-lifetime success. But that hasn't stopped organizer Frameworks Alliance from hatching big plans for the event's 1998 installment.

After the festival's 10-day Orlando run concludes next fall, Frameworks director Jason Neff and his crew are planning to take their show on the road, bringing the festivities to venues in three other Florida cities for intensive, three-day samplings of significant new inroads in the worlds of independent film and video.

According to Neff, the process of transporting the technology-wise event to new locales will amount to the decidedly low-tech endeavor of "loading all our equipment onto a bus" bound for Tampa, Melbourne and Gainesville. A host site in the latter city has already been booked, Neff says, although it may be changed by the time the autumn leaves begin blowing across I-95.
