Expect Atlantic Beer and Oyster as well as Park Social to open in the former Matilda’s space on the corner of Park and Canton avenues in Winter Park. The former will open in the Hidden Garden courtyard, and the latter on the second floor of the soon-to-open Boca restaurant (there’s a separate entrance). Boca is slated to open sometime next week.

Restaurants around the city are showing their support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month with October specials tinged with the color pink. A sampling: the strawberry-basil bayou bar at 4 Rivers Sweet Shop; a phyllo pastry with honey, strawberry custard and whipped cream at Taverna Opa; the vodka-based Pink Lady at Ravello at the Four Seasons; and the ChamPomTini – a cocktail fashioned from vodka, champagne and pomegranate liqueur at Norman’s.

From now until Halloween, you can enjoy two different Ghostbusters-themed donuts at Krispy Kreme. Naturally, both are filled with marshmallow cream.

If you read our review of Kappo last week, you might be interested in honing your makimono, nigiri and sashimi skills. The Kappo chefs host a sushi class this Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at East End Market; cost is $60 per person.

Also this Sunday, the Daily City Food Truck Bazaar hits Fashion Square Mall from 6-9 p.m. with more than 20 food trucks, a DJ and a doggy costume contest.

Celeb chef Rick Bayless stages a cooking demo at Publix in the Dr. Phillips Marketplace at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17. On the menu? Mod-Mex, of course. Tickets are $75, and the event is already waitlisted – call 407-226-9796 to get on the list.

Look for both RusTeak Restaurant & Wine Bar in College Park and Red Mountain BBQ, near the corner of Dean and Curry Ford roads, to open sometime next week … American Gymkhana has pushed back its planned October opening to next month … If you’re cycling in Ocala, be sure to pop by Greenway Bicycles across the Santos Trailhead for a cold one. They have more than 100 craft beers in stock.
