Taste of the Nation gala is Aug. 8, plus new menus, new brunches and Orlando restaurant openings and closings

The Eden Bar and Enzian Theater have added 20 new food items to their menus, including pickled beet hummus, fried oysters and raspberry beignets.

Nearly 50 eating establishments are taking part in Main Street Restaurant Week Aug. 1-8. Menus can be viewed at mainstreetrestaurantweek.com.

The 26th Taste of the Nation gala melds food with fundraising Aug. 8 at the Orlando World Marriott Center. Cost is $150.

Both Braccia Pizzeria & Ristorante and Daya, a “100 percent plant-based restaurant,” have opened on Morse Boulevard in Winter Park … Maki’s Place, a “temakeria” specializing in temaki rolls (you might know them as “hand rolls”), has opened on South Park Avenue in Winter Park … Rabbitfoot Records Coffee Lounge has opened on Second Street in Sanford … Itta Bena, an upscale Southern resto, and Lafayette’s, a live music venue and restaurant à la B.B. King’s, have opened in Pointe Orlando … Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream, a brick-and-mortar store from the folks who run the popular food truck, has opened in Audubon Park … Brewster’s Chicken celebrated its grand opening July 25 at Orlando Fashion Square Mall … Gator’s Dockside has opened in SoDo … Ten 10 Brewery has finally opened on Virginia Drive … Zora Grille is now serving up Persian fare in Altamonte … Yamasan Japanese Restaurant will open in the space next to Segafredo in Mills Park … Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse will open Aug. 15. Reservations are currently being taken delfriscos.com … Houlihan’s in the Colonial Marketplace will be replaced by a Miller’s Ale House … Look for DeBary’s Central 28 Beer Company to have its soft opening July 30 … North Quarter Tavern is now serving Sunday brunch from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

Southern Moon Smokehouse on Curry Ford Road has closed … OLV Café is closed, this time for good … Carmel Café in Altamonte Springs has closed.
