Pigging out for a worthy cause

Eating for charity is like having sex for world peace: lots of enjoyment, and you get to feel righteous too.

The latest holiday eating bash chock-full of karmic goodness is "Taste of Asia," a gathering of 60 chefs from 25 local restaurants for the benefit of the Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Saturday, Nov. 30, at 6:30 p.m. is the date and time; the Crowne Plaza Hotel (7800 Universal Blvd.) is the place. With food from area faves like Crazy Buffet, ChanÃ?s, Clay Oven, Kobe, Asian Harbor, Pho 88, Great Wall and Kabuki Japanese Steak House, it looks to be a Pan-Asian treat for a great cause.

The event includes food, drink, a silent auction, and entertainment by jugglers and musicians from Splendid China. Get your tickets online at tasteofasia.org or by calling the Chinese Cultural Center at (407) 240-8323.
