Our top five international Fringe picks

Orlando Fringe Fest 2014

We’re looking forward to seeing what these out-of-towners bring to Orlando Fringe. Visit orlandofringe.org for more information on these shows.

A Brief History of Beer
(Wish Experience; London)
According to a distress call from the time-traveling Quantum Pint Machine, beer diversity and flavor is endangered in the U.K. I can’t image what it will make of our beer tent selections.

Deranged Dating
(Kirchmann Productions; Alberton, South Africa)
Canadian Fringe award-winner Shirley Kirchmann has been a flaming stuntwoman and stand-up comic, but her tales from the “dating minefield” may turn out to be equally dangerous.

Fire in the Meth Lab
(2hoots Productions; Melbourne, Australia)
Jon Bennett’s Pretending Things Are a Cock was a hilarious hit at last year’s Fringe, and this tale of his incarcerated addict brother promises to be even more provocative.

Keith Brown: Exchange
(Keith Brown; London, Ontario)
A veteran of the London and Windsor Fringes, as well as venues across Europe and America, this magician comes to Orlando for his first time with intimate, interactive illusions: my favorite kind.

Oyster Boy
(Haste Theatre; London)
Inspired by Tim Burton’s The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy, this award-winning all-female British show about a boy, a girl and their shellfish-skulled son blends live music and physical theater.
