In the days after the mass shooting at Pulse Nightclub, volunteers threw themselves into helping the victims' families and friends however possible. And Orlando's restaurants, caterers and food producers were there to help those giving blood, carrying cases of donations or waiting for information at assistance centers.
The Downtown YMCA became a staging area for drop-off and delivery of meals donated by several local catering companies. Tijuana Flats offered free meals to nurses, doctors, EMTs and police officers that Sunday and Monday. Domino's and Papa John's sent pizzas to the GLBT Community Center. Farm-Haus donated their meal deliveries on Monday, June 13, to first responders, families of the victims and hospital staff at ORMC.
At the Daily City Food Truck Bazaar in Sanford on Saturday, June 18, several of the trucks donated percentages (or all) of their profits to victims funds, and several have pledged to donate some or all of their proceeds throughout June.
Finally, the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association has organized Dine Out for Orlando United, a statewide event scheduled for Thursday, June 30. On that day, restaurants across the state will donate a portion of total sales or profits, set up fund drives for their patrons, choose a specific menu item as a fundraiser and/or coordinate staff working a free shift or donating some or all of their tips.

Participating Orlando restaurants include Beefy King, the Boheme, Cask & Larder, Christner's Prime Steak & Lobster, Cork & Fork American Grill, Funky Monkey Bistro & Bar, Hawkers Asian Street Fare, Hubbly Bubbly Falafel Shop, K Restaurant, Marlow's Tavern, the Meatball Stoppe, Miller's Ale House, Pho Hoa Restaurant, the Pub at Pointe Orlando, Restaurant ASH, Slate, Square 1 Burgers & Bar and the Taproom at Dubsdread.
