KISS frontmen Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley will open the first East Coast location of Rock & Brews sometime next month. The pet-friendly restaurant will feature American comfort food staples. Lick it up on Red Bug Lake Road in Oviedo.

London’s Honky Tonk restaurant has created the world’s most expensive burger. Some of the ingredients in the £1,100 ($1,770) “Glamburger”: Kobe beef, New Zealand venison, Canadian lobster, Iranian saffron, beluga caviar, grated white truffle and gold leaf. Locally, Capital Grille’s Wagyu cheeseburger with fried egg, crisp onions and a glass of Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon on the side will run you $25. Sounds like a way better deal.
For those still lamenting the loss of Absinthe Bistro and Bar in the Bumby Arcade downtown, keep lamenting, but know that Chicago’s Stuffed Pizza has opened in the same space. Another CSP is slated to open in the Village at Lake Lily apartments in Maitland next month.
The 2nd Annual DeLand Wine Festival takes place from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at the Sanborn Center in DeLand. Guests can sample more than 40 wines with gourmet tapas, check out a cooking demo by Cress chef Hari Pulapaka, and take a wine class with his wife, Jenneffer. Cost is $65 per person at the door.
