Soco, the latest restaurant from the Thornton Park Restaurant Group and headed by chef Greg Richie (Cityfish), opened last week. Richie et al. are still keeping mum about TPRG’s third restaurant, planned for the former Urban ReThink space in between Cityfish and Soco.
Julie Casey, a restaurant consultant and College Park resident, will open an eatery serving made-from-scratch “twisted classics” in the current Dunkin’ Donuts locale on Edgewater Drive when the chain vacates the space. The name will be revealed Oct. 13, with a December or January opening.
In other College Park news, RusTeak will move into the O-Town Pizza & Wing Co. space in mid-October, not the Hangar Bar & Grille space as previously reported. Turns out RusTeak’s owners opted to purchase the building housing the pizza and wing joint rather than lease the old Hangar space.
La Femme du Fromage, Peterbrooke Chocolatier and Quantum Leap Winery team up to teach a class on cheese, chocolate and wine pairings from 7:30-9 p.m at Quantum Leap. Friday, Sept. 26. Cost is $45 per person.
In honor of National Coffee Day, Sept. 29, Barnie’s CoffeeKitchen will offer BOGO coffee and espresso drinks all day long, as well as complimentary Brewsticks (single-serve packets of cold-brew concentrate) with every order, throughout the day at both the Winter Park and downtown Orlando locations.
