Gimme Shelter (2/25/15)

This cute little guy is Tigger (Animal ID A311955). He's an 8-year-old, 12-pound dog who was found as a stray. He was brought to the shelter on Saturday after a citizen found him running outside near the intersection of Vine Street and Story Road. Tigger was microchipped, but attempts to reach his family were unsuccessful because the information on the chip was outdated. Tigger is also heartworm positive, which means he will need treatment.

Orange County Animal Services wants to remind all pet owners of the importance of microchipping and keeping the information associated with your pet's microchip up-to-date. If anyone is in need of microchipping, it can be done for $15 in the OCAS clinic. Dog adoption fees are $55, but anyone 55 years or older can adopt Tigger for free, thanks to the shelter's yearlong Seniors for Seniors promotion. Orange County Animal Services is located at 2769 Conroy Road, 407-396-3111, ocnetpets.com.
