In 2007, local musician Robert Johnson had an ambitious plan: He wanted to put together a weekend-long music festival that would highlight the talented and often undersung female singers, songwriters, artists and musicians that call Central Florida home. He called the event the ELLA (short for elevate, listen, love, appreciate) Music Festival, and it's been an annual happening ever since.
Now in its sixth year, the fest has changed a bit – it's been downsized from a two-day marathon to one jam-packed day featuring performers on two stages – but its goal is the same: to help local female artists and musicians gain exposure and recognition.

The schedule, which features a lot of familiar and well-loved local female performers, follows:

Inside stage:
2-2:30 p.m. Kim Hightower
2:50-3:20 p.m. Actomatics
