Most people fall into one of two camps when it comes to football season: those who can’t get enough and those who can’t give less of a shit. Luckily, there’s at least one program on that everyone can agree on this time of year: The League. The show follows five middle-aged dude-bros and one of their wives who are all in a fantasy football league together and are generally pretty awful to one another. You don’t need to know anything about football to enjoy the show, other than a general understanding that competition can bring out the worst in people. If cringe comedy isn’t your bag, this may not be the show for you, as plots often involve sex, bodily fluids, public embarrassment, naming rights, pooping, marital warfare and foul-mouthed little asshole children. If that all sounds hilarious to you, congratulations: You’re right. New episodes air Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on FXX, but you can catch up on the past five seasons on Netflix or Amazon Prime Instant Video.
