More Q Than A

More Q Than A

The Gallery at Avalon Island, 39 S. Magnolia Ave, 407-317-8367, avalongallery.org

This rare-film series is masterminded by three film fiends who couldn't be more different from one another but collectively make perfect sense as partners – Patrick Greene, Joshua David Martin and Kyle Eagle – according to nothing more than their own gut instincts and tastes. Film selections are refreshingly made along the lines of, "Wouldn't it be cool to see ...," instead of anticipated box office receipts. So far they've screened works ranging from Alejandro Jodorosky to Fritz Lang, and they were the only game in town for the recent Chet Baker biopic, Born to Be Blue. Screenings take place at the Gallery at Avalon Island, where there's usually coffee available, and it's a much better way to catch a classic flick than Netflix on a laptop
