Plus interviews with Amber Teicher and Kaitlin McGaovock, our two final round contestants

We rounded up a list of our favorite area bartenders who regularly make our drinks (and our days) a little better than most, then pitted them against each other to see who the barflies swarmed to. After three rounds of voting, it came down to crafty mixologist Kaitlin McGavock (the Courtesy Bar) and craft-beer slinger Amber Teicher (Will’s Pub). Competition was stiff, but, luckily, the drinks were stiffer, and we made it through. Meet the winner and runner-up …

Enjoy rad craft beer comfortably.

Which bar do you frequent on your day off?
I’m usually at Will’s Pub, but I really love Wally’s and Lizzy McCormack’s Irish Pub.

Lagavulin Scotch 16 Year. One rock.

Describe your bar in five words.
Aromatic, boozy, fun, educational, efficient.

Which bar do you frequent on your day off?
Home bar. It’s got a couch and a bed, and I never have to pay my tab. Also Will’s Pub, Lizzy McCormack’s Irish Pub, Hanson’s Shoe Repair, but, of course, my favorite is the Courtesy.
