Delivering Cuban like a Champ's

Several Orlando lunch spots lay righteous claims to serving the best Cuban sandwich in town. Many are good, so we break ties by factoring in location. When wandering downtown, our contender of choice for top-notch Cubans is the shoebox-sized Champ's.

Located at 132 E. Central Blvd., just across from the Orlando Public Library, Champ's isn't fancy. In fact, it looks a bit like a large storage closet with street-level windows. We suggest that you ignore the barren decor and feast your eyes instead on the huge and mouthwatering Cuban sandwiches ($3.50) emerging from behind the tiny counter. Fresh and warm, they are heaven on a bun.

Best of all, if lunchtime leaves you stranded in a cubical, Champ's delivers downtown with absolutely no minimum (between 11 a.m.-2 p.m.). You want one Cuban sandwich and one Diet Coke? Just call, and it's on the way.
