Locals including Tobar, Everett Spruill, Shirley Mackey, Clifton Greene, Susan Long, Swamburger and more bring their art outside with food vendors
Not everyone can afford to pay to have their art rejected by a jury for something as formal as the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival. For an outdoor show with more local flavor, trot down the road to Frames Forever & Art Gallery on Orange Avenue. The parking lot will be filled for two days with urban favorites including Tobar and Swamburger, nicely juxtaposed with people like septuagenarian impressionist Shirley Mackey. And since some of this art is likely to be a little less prêt-à-porter, an interior design consultant will be on hand to help you work experimental pieces into your personal home style. This doesn’t even get into the entertainment lineup: a scheduled capoeira performance, live music and “painting a guy with water balloons.” Brian Feldman will even be there, sleeping for 50 hours under Plexiglas you can walk over. They won’t have that at the sidewalk fest. (noon-6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday at Frames Forever & Art Gallery, 941 Orange Ave., Winter Park; free; 407-622-6358) (Staff)
