Had a great time snacking my way through Veg Fest today. (Yay, Khasiyat! And Z-Café, and Loving Hut, and Harmony Catering — and everyone else whose wares I did NOT sample.) If you missed it, just wait for next year … it gets better every year.
While I was there, I heard about a very cool upcoming event: Local progressive business alliance Ourlando is hosting Farm to Table, a screening of Food Fight at the Enzian with hors d'oeuvres and beer ... all local! Chef Josh Oakley, the Enzian kitchen god, will create the appetizers from local produce, and after the film, you'll have a chance to meet the local farmers and food producers while mingling and drinking Orlando Brewing beer and fair-trade coffee from Austin's and tea from Dandelion.
Food Fight is a great film (read my review from last year's FFF here), though not as absolutely must-see as Food Inc., and locavore snacks on top of it? Yes please!
Farm to Table, 12:30–2:30 Sunday, Nov. 15; Enzian Theater, 1300 S. Orlando Ave., Maitland; $18
