Singers and lovers of the Harlem Renaissance, your time has come. The Zora! Festival is putting together something called the "Thousand Voices Choir." Seems pretty cut and dry, so I'll let them give you the details:
Who: ZORA! Festival and the Thousand Voices Choir
What: ZORA! Festival organizers to host introductory meeting for community members to join the Thousand Voices Choir.
When: Sunday, October 18 at 6pm
Where: Hungerford High School Gymnasium
100 East Kennedy Blvd. in Eatonville
Contact: For registration information, call 407-647-3131
All community members, including choirs, are welcome to attend the meeting. There is no cost to join and participation is open to all groups and genres. Children under 13 must have signed parental consent forms in order to participate.
The choir will be led by choirmaster Roger Mike and will perform at the 21st annual ZORA! Festival on Sunday, January 31, 2010. Mike is a distinguished musician who has been in the music industry for more than 40 years.
This year, the ZORA! Festival will be held from January 23-31, 2010, culminating with the Outdoor Festival of the Arts held in Eatonville.
