Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton held a public rally in Kissimmee Monday night that drew over 3,00o people, including Seddique Mateen, the father of Pulse shooter Omar Mateen.
As you can see in the clip above, Seddique Mateen spoke with WPTV after the rally at a rest stop near West Palm Beach. “It’s a Democratic Party, so everyone can join,” said Mateen responding to why he was there. He also told the station that Clinton is “good for the United States” and that Donald Trump “has no solutions.”
The Clinton campaign has since responded to the situation, saying they had no idea he was in attendance. "The rally was a 3,000-person, open-door event for the public. This individual wasn’t invited as a guest and the campaign was unaware of his attendance until after the event,” a campaign official said to thePalm Beach Post.
Clinton's rally began by remembering the 49 people killed and 53 wounded at Pulse nightclub. “I know how many people, families, loved ones and friends are still grieving, and we will be with you as you rebuild your lives,” she said.
