For awhile, the competitive show replaced the musical act Off Kilter
and involved a local lumberjack group doing tricks like axe throwing and hot-sawing, while entertaining the crowd with puns and simple dialog. While the show proved to be popular for some many complained about the noise from the chainsaws used in the show. The loud chainsaw noise could be heard all the way across World Showcase on some days.
Some have viewed the closure of the lumberjack show as a sign Off Kilter, with its cult following, will return. Disney has yet to confirm any permanent shows for the Canadian pavilion stage, but they have confirmed a special holiday show
, Holiday Voyageurs, which does include performers from both Mulch Sweat and Shears and Off Kilter.
On a related note, Disney officials were spotted at the Beaver Tails booth
during the recent International Attractions Expo, which has led many to hope for a return of the popular snack to the Canadian Pavilion. We could see a return of both the popular Off Kilter show and the Beaver Tail snacks just in time for the 35th Anniversary of Epcot (most anniversaries at Disney last at least 18 months).
Some analysts have also expressed concern about how Frozen being introduced into Norway will affect crowd flow within Epcot. The reintroduction of former shows or the introduction of new, more popular shows could help with those crowds.
