Orange County Commissioners pledged their support and $3 million to the University of Central Florida's downtown campus, the Creative Village project planned for Parramore.

Creative Village is slated to open in 2018 and would "relocate 14 academic programs from its campus in east Orange County to downtown, including those in its School of Visual Arts and Design, the Nicholson School of Communication, and the College of Health and Public Affairs," the Orlando Sentinel reports.

According to News 13, the county will give the project funding after it wins approval by the Florida Board of Governors, which meets today.
The project suffered a financial loss this summer when Gov. Rick Scott vetoed $15 million that the Florida Legislature had set aside from the project.
