We don't normally use "healthy" as an adjective to describe McDonald's but the fast-food giant is hoping that will change with the new addition of two low-calorie options to its menu.
Enter Tampa Bay's McDonald's operators, who came up with the Classic and Signature ground chicken burgers as a better option for more health-conscious customers.
The Tampa Bay Times
reports that these burgers will only be here for a short time (a couple of months), which will give McDonald's enough time to see if their new chicken creations will be a success in other markets.
According to the Tampa Bay Business Journal
, the burgers are the result of a yearlong process with Keystone Foods, and is one of McDonald's latest attempts to reinvent its image. The sandwich is made with blended white and dark chicken meat, and rack up only 400 calories - about 150 calories less than their signature Big Mac burger.
With these burgers and the introduction of breakfast all day
, McDonald's is definitely making moves to have more people eat at its restaurants.
